The krink knockoffs are in the $450 to $700 range.

The real krinks are as high as $2000 if you can find 'em.

J&G Sales still have some of the Romanian Champions (aka Dracos) left. They are the best bang for your buck. Your pick of .223 or 7.62x39

7.62x39

.223

Pick up one of those Draco's.

Then either paint the wood or replace it. Replacing it would cost you less than $50. So you should be in the gun you want for around $500.

You could add almost any muzzle brake that appeals to you, once you cut the muzzle nut off of the Draco. It took me about a minute with my Dremel. Mine has an AMD65 muzzle brake and hand grip. Then just drill the rear trunion and tap it and mount your sling swivel. You can either do a single sling attach point. OR you can attach a sling to the front and rear.

Just a thought.

AD,
Take a look. Not too hard or too expensive. Here's my Draco, that I'm slowly rebuilding into an AMD65 pistol. But you could easily swap out the forearm grips for black plastic like the ones you showed.

A REAL Krink will run you about $2k. I've got a buddy who has a virgin Krink kit. He's thinking on selling. You would have to have it built up, but it's about the only way you will see one for less than that $2k. He's out of pocket right now, but if you are interested, I'll let him know.

Re: AK Pistols & Krinkovs

Gansta99,

Hmm, lets see. The Draco was $399 when I bought it. Plus s&h plus the processing the form through a buddy of mine who owns his own shop, so call it a total of $450 for the pistol itself.

The other parts? The AMD65 muzzle brake cost $15 and a pair of the hand grips cost $10. The muzzle brake and the hand grips can be purchased from Centerfire.

Now, the metal foregrip? I have an AMD65 parts kit I bought a few years back as a parts kit FOR my AMD65, so that was free. I'm not sure where to direct you to find one of those. The gas tube will be somewhere between $30 - $50, depending on IF I can find what I'm looking for. Perhaps I can buy a gas tube locally OR from Century International, who is the importer of the Romanian Draco.

Plus, being a gunsmith, I have the equipment and the welder to weld up the bottom like it needs to be, so the BATF doesn't try and say I'm trying to make it a 'front hand grip' pistol, which is illegal.

So, if you can find the gas tube and the front AMD65 metal forearm, call it a total of less than $100.

Call the total somewhere between $650 - $700. I did all the work, but hey, all I did was swap parts from ONE AK to another AK. That's it. NO MODS whatsoever. Plus, if you didn't NEED to keep the gas tube original, you could easily save yourself at least $30 - $50 and cut the wood and the front and rear metal parts that hold the gas tube CAREFULLY so as not to damage the gas tube. But I want to find a spare one, so I can 'put it back to stock' any time I want by simply swapping the original parts back in.

OR, you can contact Vulcan Arms and purchase one for $640! Here's one on Guns America:
http://www.gunsamerica.com/976930206...RMS_PISTOL.htm

It should be noted from the ad, this one HAS been fired. And it has a 'Krink' muzzle brake, so it's not EXACTLY an AMD65. But for $15 you can swap the muzzle brake for an AMD65 brake. It will be used, but hey, for $655 you could have what was basically an AMD65 AK pistol.

The avatar is just a pic that I found online. I did invert the colors on it prior to using it.

Thanks much for the welcome.
